Snowtime fun with Emmy

I walked into my office one day to find a sled sitting in the middle of the room. After a while one of my co-workers came by to explain. The sled had been given to him by another co-worker when he had small children. He was asked to pass it on when his children out grew it, giving it to someone else who needed it. So After having been passed around many times, Emmy gets a nice wooden sled.

We had enough snow in November to take Emmy around the house with the sled.

Daddy is making a snow angel.

We had some monster icicles.

AJ Pictures

When we did Emmy's two year old pictures we also got some more pictures of AJ.

Holding Daddy's finger

He has such long hair.

One baby is peaking out

The middle car is Daddy's and was made by Grandpa Hanks. The others are gifts from one of our friends in the area.

Big sister loves her AJ.

When you are this little taking pictures is tiring work.

Emmy's two year photos!

Here are some more past due pictures. These are some of Emmy's two year photos. We think they are pretty fun.

Hard at play

This set of pictures with her name are some of our favorites.

Painting Pumpkins

We usually aim to carve the pumpkins for Halloween, but with the new baby coming we already had our hands full. So this last year we used a marker.

Emmy was our main pumpkin artist.

Here she is examining the 'Emily' pumpkin
.

All done with her work.

It really was a beautiful fall day.

Fall colors everywhere.

Life in a box

One of the toys I got for my birthday last year was a light box. I had it out one night to do some macro photography and Emmy just could not resist. After all, she had never seen one of these contraptions before. The picture says it all.

AJ the early days

Here are some early pictures of AJ, the newest addition to our little family. These are from his first days home.

He doesn't have blond hair, it is white.

And long too

Back to Applepalooza

I'm only 5 months late on this one...

Applepalooza is the yearly fundraiser/carnival for Liberty Christian school. It is another fun event. Emmy will really enjoy this one in a few years, it is aimed at older children then Sausage Fest is.

It is held on the school grounds, which means playground equipment! She also found a baby launching slide. It got some good air.

This game was fun, you toss the ball into the floating cups and get a prize. I think she is helping retrieve the balls here.

Next year I get to park myself in the pony line until it opens. She really really really wanted to ride the ponies. But the line was 1 1/2 hours long.

After Applepalooza we went to a park down on the Columbia for some more playing.

The Doctor is in.

Getting ready to go.

Down the road there where hundreds of geese and ducks covering a small pond. We stopped to chase, I mean watch, them.

Just watching, that's right...

Chocolate Smiles 8^D

We made chocolate peppermint mousse. It was our experiment for the night. We are still working on it.

What can I say, she really gets the idea of licking the spoon.

Emmy and Mommy are tempering the chocolate so we can put in the cream.

All done, I get the bowl.

Tips for the day:
  • Don't assume that the dairy substance next to you is warm butter.
  • Cheese does not help chocolate melt into a nice sauce.
  • If you do use cheese you must throw the chocolate out, and start all over again.
Meanwhile, back in the front room ... AJ smiles.

Hi!!!!!

Happy Windsday!

It was a very blustery day. But it was warm enough to go to the park. So we bundled up and headed out to play.

Emmy is learning to pump her legs.

Weeee!!!!

Emmy and Daddy looking out of the castle.

It was too windy for AJ to come out and play, besides he was asleep most of the time.

We don't have a picture of it, but when we were going back to the car, Daddy was flying Emmy like a Piglet kite. But there was no little Roo to ask if he could fly Emmy too.

1, 2, 3 jump!!!!

I worked from home today, which has its perks. It is the only time I can take a lunch break at the park or some other fun spot with Emmy during the work week.

Today we went on a quick trip to the library. On the way to and from the car we stopped at some of the cracks in the concrete to jump over them. '1, 2, 3 jump'. Emmy is still working on jumping, it is so cute. To add some fun to it, on the way back to the car a lady caught up to us and started jumping with us for a bit.

It was a fun trip, and I didn't even tell you about how much fun she had with the furniture in the library (long wavy couches, big plush round stools, kiddie tables, ...).

Also, at some point I will get more pictures up.
