Summer Fun

Here are some pictures we took a while ago. Just having some fun in the backyard. So here is a summer evening with us.

Emmy got a piggy-back ride from Daddy. We are signing 'bird' right now.

We did get our sprinklers working. So the grass went green, yeah!!!

Ohhh. I love this face. Well I love the baby too, so that helps.

Emmy is having fun with Mom's flip flops.

I'm not sure if the previous owners had planted sun-flowers or if we got some seeds blown from next door. Which ever way it was we have ended up with a small sunflower plant in our garden.

Bubbles!!!! or Emmy having fun.

Bubbles!!!! She knows what it means, and can now say 'Bubbles'. Here she is having fun with Grandma.

Emmy at work.

Lets blow some more bubbles.

She got another one going.

Just look at that little face, this is pure fun.

Here is some fun with other toys. I used to play with these toys when I was her age.

Vroom ... Vroom!

This last trip was also a good time to visit family again. Now when she sees pictures, she has to point to everyone that she knows.

Fun With Emmy

We have lots of fun with Emmy. Here are some short videos we have taken recently

We decided that 'Emmy Bowling' was a better name than 'Emmy Balls', but it is fun. We have played it for our family home evening, Emmy scores pretty high. Well at least when she isn't trying to slide down the ramp (which can't support her).

This is from vacation at Grandma's house. I call it 'Destructo Baby', which just about says it all.

It was a beautiful (and hot) day yesterday. So in the evening when it had cooled down a bit we went to the park for ice cream and a walk by the river. Both activities proved fun for us.

The first time that Emmy got her very own ice cream cone.

The water was cold, but after a bit she wanted to stand in the river and splash too. She got wet. Here is Emmy warming up in one of Daddy's shirts.

Playing with Cousins

Part of the fun of vacation is playing with family. We had a little bit of time to go to a park and play with cousins.

Climbing through the tube tunnels

I'm going down the big slide.

Wee!

Daddy, I need to bury my toes.

They had fun on the bouncy toys too.

Summer begins

In preparation for the summer months we had to teach Emmy a few things. Very important things, like eating corn on the cob.

Once she got started, she had no problem eating it straight from the Cobb. It took some convincing to keep her eating when the camera came out, which was almost a problem. This camera phone only does 30 second videos.

It was a good idea to have some extra cooked, so that I could have some of my own corn.

Taking a plunge at the end of summer parties

It is time for the end of summer parties for us. We had two picnics/parties this last week that were a lot of fun.

Our young men and women had a boating party during the week. It was a good time to hang out with them.

I am Emmy, hear me roar!!!!!

Br Muai throwing a football for our young men.

The Elder's quorum put a ward party together for the weekend. It was a lot of fun for all of us. Most of the food was cooked in dutch ovens. Then they had a dunk tank and a few games.

Fried bread in a dutch oven. It was very good and very hot.

Emmy is learning to walk with one of our young women.

A fun sight for us on the river. And yes that is a giant smiley face on the barge.

I came prepared for the dunk tank.

And it was a good thing, he was going to get me one way or the other. Although it took some goading to get him to go up and push the plunger while I was not looking.

The tug of war was fairly popular. Here the girls dragged the boys along pretty good. When they had the men come out my side won.

Lots of Picnics

Summer is picnic time in the Tri-Cities. The stake did the 24th of July celebration and then LIGO had a summer picnic.

The 24th of July picnic celebrates the Mormon pioneers entering the Salt Lake valley. The stake up here went all out at one of the state parks.

Our little pioneer, she even has a bonnet.

Emmy and Daddy played the ring toss game. We even got one!

Panning for pyrite. The real stuff is too expensive.

Emmy helped Mommy find some.

LIGO had a summer picnic as well. We have some great people there, so it is nice to get out with them in a non-work environment. Emmy made a few friends as well.

Emmy with Mandy, one of our summer visitors.

I love little incongruities like this.

Remember, no swimming around the dock.

The Columbia was a little bit nippy. But Emmy still liked to splash in it.

Emmy is such a big girl!

Emily is growing up. She has finally learned how to crawl. She had been threatening for a while now, but we thought she might walk first.

The nice thing about racing an infant, is you don't even have to walk fast to win, but she is definitely cuter than I am.

Simming Time

We thought our daughter did not like the water. It turns out she does not like baths, but swimming (or simming if you are only 7-8 months old) is another thing all together.

Kathy got her into the water and then we took a smiling, splashing, happy little girl around the pool.

Splashing away.

I'm a big girl, look at me climb up the side of the pool.

That was fun Aunt Kathy, but I'm a little cold now.
See, I'm all wrinkly too!
